MILLERSVILLE –
Katie Fitzpatrick netted a team-high 10 points in Mansfield's 68-45 PSAC East loss at Millersville on Monday night.
The game was a make-up from the originally scheduled Jan. 23 date that was postponed due to a severe winter storm.
At 1,281 career points, Fitzpatrick is now just 9 points from passing Donna Kukura (1979-83) for fourth on the MU all-time scoring. The senior also pulled down five rebounds.
Becky Evans recorded eight points with
Tianna Jackson and
Jessica Crawley each adding seven points.
Mary Kate Rumbaugh pulled down a game-high nine rebounds and
Brielle Kelly grabbed eight boards.
Celeste Robinson and Alayah Hall each recorded a game-high 14 points for Millersville.
Mansfield led for the entire first half, jumping out to six-point advantages twice. The Mountaineers ended the quarter holding an 18-15 lead. Millersville took over the lead early in the second quarter and built up a 12-point lead heading into halftime at 38-26.
The Marauders maintained a double-digit lead through the third quarter and increased their advantage in the fourth to win their eighth straight.
The Mountaineers held a 40-35 rebounding advantage in the game.
