FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountaineers Can't Contain ESU Offense

MANSFIELD – Jess Crawley scored a career-high 12 points, but a hot-shooting East Stroudsburg was too much for Mansfield in an 89-57 loss at First Citizens Community Bank Court at Decker Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Crawley came off the bench to lead the Mountaineers in scoring, going 5-9 from the floor while adding a pair of free throws. The senior also recorded three steals and a pair of rebounds in the game.

Brielle Kelly chipped in nine points and Mary Kate Rumbaugh seven.

East Stroudsburg's Allison Howard recorded a game-high 23 points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors opened the game with a 3-pointer and maintained a slight lead for much of the quarter. ESU led 19-10 with 2:50 to play, but the Mountaineers cut their deficit down to 24-19 at the end of the quarter.

In the second quarter, the Warriors increased their lead back up to double-digits and led by as many as 15 points, before a 6-0 Mansfield run brought the lead down to nine. ESU ended the half with a 45-35 lead.

East Stroudsburg outscored the Mounties 25-8 in the third quarter and 19 -14 in the fourth to earn the PSAC East win.

The Warriors connected on 60.0% (33-55) of shots from the floor while Mansfield was held to just 34.5% (20-58) shooting.

The Mountaineers host Kutztown on Saturday for Senior Day. Prior to the game, seniors Katie Fitzpatrick, Madisen Slagle, Jessica Crawley and Megan McSwain will be honored.
