WEST CHESTER –
Katie Fitzpatrick paced three Mounties in double-figure, but it wouldn't be enough as Mansfield came up just short at division-leading West Chester 81-71 Saturday afternoon.

Fitzpatrick scored a team-high 18 points to move past Jess Uhrich (2003-07) for fifth on the MU all-time scoring list. At 1,252 career points, Fitzpatrick is now just 33 away from passing Donna Kukura (1980-83) for fourth in all-time scoring.

Brielle Kelly added 11 points while
Princella McCullough matched her season-best with 10 points and was just shy of a double-double with eight rebounds.
Mary Kate Rumbaugh pulled down a game-high 10 boards and was one point short of a double-double.
Becky Evans also added nine points.

Kendall Benovy led five Lady Rams in double-figure scoring with a game-high 21 points.

West Chester maintained a slight lead throughout the first quarter and held a 16-12 advantage heading into the second quarter. The Rams built their biggest lead of the half at 13 points before ending the period with a 37-27 advantage.

Mansfield worked its deficit down to six points in the third quarter but would pull no closer.

The Mountaineers held a significant 50-37 rebounding advantage in the game.

Mansfield hits the road again on Monday for a PSAC East match-up with Millersville.
