Mounties Fall at BloomBLOOMSBURG –
Thomas Moore topped three Mountaineers in double-figures with 16 points but Mansfield was plagued by cold shooting and turnovers in dropping a 96-65 decision at Bloomsburg in a PSAC East matchup Saturday afternoon.
Mansfield jumped out to a 7-1 lead on a layup on by
Matt Tamanosky three minutes into the game but little else went the Mountaineers way after the fast start.
Bloomsburg took a 49-34 lead into halftime and used a 22-2 run to over the first seven minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach.
Mansfield shot a season-low 35.7% from the floor and while turning the ball over a season-high 29 times.
Moore scored in double-figures for the ninth straight game with
Eric Lewis Jr. adding 1 points and freshman
Joe Marshall 10 points.
Christian Mortellite led Bloomsburg with 20 points with Charles Haigler coming off the bench to score 19 points.
Mansfield is off for two weeks for the before returning to Decker Gymnasium to host Mercyhurst on Jan. 3.
