GREENSBURG, Pa. –
Kayla Grunza scored twice in a shootout to lift Mansfield (1-3, 1-1 PSAC) past Seton Hill (0-2, 0-2 PSAC) 3-2 in PSAC field hockey action Saturday afternoon to give the Mountaineers their first win of the season.

Seton Hill's Alisha Bell scored in the 27
th minute to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead which would hold until halftime.

Five minutes into the second half,
Chelsea Tanco scored the equalizer unassisted. It was the freshman's second goal of the season

The Griffins regained the lead when Nicole DeLuca found the back of goal on a penalty corner play in the 47
th minute. The Seton Hill lead would not last long though, as
Courtney Wilson scored just two minutes later to knot the game at two goals apiece. It was the first goal of the season for Wilson

The Mountaineers had a chance to take the lead for the first time in the game with a penalty swipe attempt in the 58
th minute, but
Katie Lipski's shot was denied by the Seton Hill keeper. Mansfield totaled five penalty corners and two shots following Wilson's score, but couldn't push across the go-ahead goal in regulation.

In the first overtime period, both sides recorded four shots, but neither team was able to score. Seton Hill had a great opportunity to end the game in the second overtime with a penalty swipe attempt in the 76
th minute, but Mansfield keeper
Laura Lawson kept the game alive with a key save. After 90 minutes of action the score remained tied at 2-2 so the game moved into a shootout.

Hutsko gave the Griffins the advantage with a goal in the first shootout attempt, but Grunza answered with a goal for Mansfield in the very next attempt.

Lawson and Seton Hill keeper Alexandra Piekarz became brick walls in goal, combining to deny the next 19 shootout attempts. However, it was Grunza who struck again in the third round of shootouts to secure the victory for Mansfield.

Mansfield held a strong 15-4 penalty corner advantage in the game.

The Mountaineers return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 17 for their home opener against West Chester.
