Box Score 2 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Baseball Drops Doubleheader to East Stroudsburg
EAST STROUDSBURG – Mansfield took early leads in both games, but East Stroudsburg rallied to earn the PSAC East doubleheader sweep Saturday afternoon at Mitterling Field. The Warriors won the opener 5-4 before taking game two 9-3.
Mansfield (16-13, 4-10 PSAC East) got on the board early, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning.
Seth Tressler opened the inning by reaching on an error then stole second and third.
Eric Schanzenbacher reached on a walk then stole second to put a pair of runners in scoring position. Tressler stole home for the Mountaineer's first run of the inning before
Westyn Baylor's double plated Schanzenbacher. With two outs,
Anthony Renz crushed his fourth home run of the season with a two-run shot.
East Stroudsburg (22-11, 8-8 PSAC East) cut the Mansfield lead in half, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third inning to trail 4-2. In the sixth inning, the Warriors rallied for three runs to take a 5-4 lead.
Brandon Garrett pitched 5.0 innings for Mansfield, allowing three earned runs while striking out three batters. Sacoman took the loss pitching the final inning and allowing two earned runs.
Ryan Lubreski earned his fifth win of the year, tossing 6.0 innings with one earned run and six Ks. Keenan Stare recorded the save.
Renz led the Mountaineers at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.
In game two, Mansfield struck first once again with a run in the top of the first inning. Tressler, who reached on a single before stealing second, scored the Mountaineer's run on a Baylor sacrifice fly.
East Stroudsburg went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the first inning, but scored a pair of runs in each of the next two innings to lead 4-1.

The Warriors scored one run in the fifth inning before hanging four runs in the sixth to jump out to a 9-2 lead.
The Mountaineers scored a run in the top of the seventh when Miller doubled before coming home on a LeClair RBI single, but could pull no closer.
Renz collected two hits in the game to total four on the day while also drawing a walk.
Eric Forth led East Stroudsburg at the plate going 3-for-3 with four RBIs and a run scored.
Matt Festa earned his third win of the season, pitching 6.2 innings with three earned runs and five strikeouts.
Mansfield returns to Shaute Field on Sunday to play the Warriors in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
