CLEARWATER, Fla. - Seth Tressler went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs, including a solo home run, to lead Mansfield past Kentucky Wesleyan in a 14-7 sluggfest to open the Mountaineer's 2014 Florida trip.

Mansfield totaled 13 hits and had three different players with a home run in the game.

The Mountaineers improve to 6-2 on the season and have won five straight games dating back to February 23.

Westyn Baylor opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with a two-run home run to left field scoring Eric Schanzenbacher in the process. The Mountaineers added two more runs in the second when Anthony Renz scored on an RBI single by Tressler and when Stanton Tentnowski stole home.

After a scoreless third, Renz kicked off a three-run fourth inning with a lead-off solo home run smashed over the left field fence. Zephan Kash and Tentnowski also scored in the inning to put Mansfield on top 7-0.

The Mountaineers built their lead to 11-0 in the fifth inning after Seth Tressler belted a two RBI double to score Kash and Johnny LeClair before Brandon Miller brought home Tressler and Dave Glueck on a single through the right side.

Kentucky Wesleyan (5-3) put their first run on the board in the top of the sixth inning on Jonathan Eberhardt's solo home run. The Panthers scored another in the seventh inning to cut their deficit to 11-2.

Eberhardt went 4-for-5 in the game with two runs and an RBI.

Tressler recorded his first home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh to put the Mounties on top 12-2.

In the top of the eighth inning, Kentucky Wesleyan capitalized on four errors by the Mountaineers to put five runs on the board and pull within five runs.

Baylor and Taylor Hillson scored runs in the bottom of the inning to put the game out of reach.

Mansfield starting pitcher Quin Taylor threw seven quality innings, allowing just two earned runs while striking out five batters. Taylor improved his record to 2-1 on the season with the win.

Mitch Iseneker pitched 0.2 innings in relief with no earned runs before Louis Sick shut the door on the Panthers, pitching the final 1.1 innings.

Wesleyan's Aussie Light took the loss after allowing seven earned runs in 4.0 innings of work.

Mansfield returns to action tomorrow morning with a nine inning game against Ohio Valley.
