MILLERSVILLE – Mansfield trailed by just three points at halftime, but a big second half lifted Millersville to a 69-51 PSAC East victory Wednesday night at Pucillo Gymnasium.

The Marauders struck first, scoring the first six points of the game, before
Maria Kelleher's lay-up got the Mansfield (1-5, 0-3 PSAC East) on the board. A jumper by
Alyssa DeRichie closed the Millersville (4-3, 2-1 PSAC East) lead to 8-5 with 12 minutes to play in the half.

Six unanswered points gave the Marauders their largest lead of the half at 14-5. Millersville maintained its nine-point lead at 16-7 at the seven-minute mark, but a 7-0 run by the Mounties made it a two-point game.

Millersville continued to lead, but back-to-back free throws by Kelleher brought the Mounties within one point. The Marauders took a 28-25 lead into halftime.

After the break, Millersville used a 17-4 run over a five minute span to jump out to a 16-point lead. The Mountaineers closed within 11 points twice during the half, but couldn't bring the deficit to single digits.

Tianna Jackson paced the Mounties with 13 points, connecting on 8-of-10 free throws in the game.
Maria Kelleher knocked down three treys on her way to 12 points while
Brielle Kelly added eight points. Kelly and
Katie Fitzpatrick each grabbed a team-high five rebounds.

Carly Gallagher had a game-high 18 points for Millersville with Yasmin Cooper adding 12 points. Alexis Martin and Alex Stam each had 11 points. Gallagher, Cooper and Martin all had a game-high eight rebounds.

Mansfield returns home on Saturday to host PSAC East rival Lock Haven.
