Jackson Scores Game-High 21 Points in Tough Loss

8292GREENSBURG – Tianna Jackson scored a game and career-high 21 points but Seton Hill pulled away late to edge Mansfield 77-69 in a PSAC crossover game Tuesday night.

Seton Hill (5-5, 2-3 PSAC) held a slim 28-27 halftime advantage before Mansfield opened the second half with a 4-0 run on a layup by Jackson and a pair of free throws from Becky Evans to take a 31-28 lead.

The Mountaineers extended their lead to 39-34 three minutes into second half on a 3-pointer by Katie Fitzpatrick and held a 42-38 advantage two minutes later on a trey from Jackson.

Mansfield led 44-43 on a layup by Fitzpatrick with thirteen minutes remaining in the game before Seton Hill went on a 13-2 run over the next four minutes to build a 56-46 advantage.

The Mountaineers closed the gap to 58-54 on a Jackson 3-pointer with just under eight minutes left and trailed 63-59 on a layup by Evans with five minutes remaining but could pull no closer.

Mansfield shot a season-best 50% from the floor and turned the ball over just 13 times in one of the Mountaineers best efforts of the season.

Jackson hit 6-of-11 from the floor including 2-of-4 from beyond the arch while connecting on 7-of-9 free throws to lead all scorers.

The Mountaineers got 12 points each from Evans, Fitzpatrick and Maria Kelleher who hit four 3-pointers on the night. Fitzpatrick also recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 rebounds.
Meghan Mastroianni topped Seton Hill with 17 points.

Mansfield host California in a PSAC crossover game this Saturday.
