#25 IUP Too Much for Mounties

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: #25 IUP Too Much for Mounties

INDIANA, Pa. – Katie Fitzpatrick scored a game-high 21 points but undefeated and No. 25 ranked IUP proved to be too much for Mansfield with an 89-56 PSAC crossover victory Tuesday night at the Kovalchick Complex.

Fitzpatrick connected on 10-of-21 field goals for a season-high in scoring. Freshmen Becky Evans and Mary Kate Rumbaugh each hit career-highs in scoring with 15 and 10 points respectively.

Brielle Kelly pulled down a team-best six rebounds with four coming on the offensive glass.

IUP's Zhane Brooks came off the bench to record a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds. Marita Mathe chipped in 12 points with Leslie Stapleton adding 11 points.

Mansfield did a better job of taking care of the ball with its 14 turnovers being the lowest total this season. The Mountaineer's 37.9% shooting from the floor was the highest percentage in three games.

IUP shot 50.0% (33-66) from the field and held a 47-29 rebounding advantage in the game.

The Mountaineers complete their two-game road trip tomorrow at Seton Hill
