FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: California Runs Past Mansfield 85-56
CALIFORNIA, Pa. –
Jena Matter scored a game-high 21 points, but it wouldn't be enough as visiting Mansfield fell on the road to California (Pa.) 85-56 Wednesday night in the Mountaineers final PSAC crossover game of the season.
Matter connected on eight field goals and five free throws to record a season-best in scoring and her highest point total since putting up 22 against Roberts Wesleyan on Jan. 3, 2012. The senior also grabbed a team-high six rebounds.

Megan McSwain hit double-figure scoring for the eighth time this season with 12 points on the night. Sophomore
Katie Fitzpatrick was the third Mountaineer in double-figure scoring with 10 points.
California's (8-5, 2-2 PSAC West) Emma Mahady paced five Vulcans in double-digit scoring with her 19 points. Kaitlynn Fratz added 18 points with Elena Antonenko chipping in 13 points.
The Vulcans held a 44-29 rebounding advantage while scoring 11 second-chance points in the game.
Cal took advantage of the Mountaineers 24 turnovers in the game scoring 21 points off giveaways.
Mansfield (0-14, 0-4 PSAC East) enters the heart of PSAC eastern division play when they host Millersville at First Citizens Community Bank Court at Decker Gymnasium on Saturday.
