MANSFIELD – Jena Matter recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 17 points and a career-high 20 rebounds, but East Stroudsburg was able to come away with the 67-49 victory over Mansfield Wednesday night in PSAC East action at First Citizens Community Bank Court at Decker Gymnasium.

Matter pulled down 13 defensive rebounds alone - her previous career-high being 13 total boards – and seven offensive to dominate the glass. The senior hit four field goals and was 9-for-10 from the free throw line.

With the performance, Matter sits just 33 points away from becoming the 15th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point milestone.

Katie Fitzpatrick added 13 points and three assists for the Mounties.

East Stroudsburg (10-9, 5-4 PSAC) was paced by Allison Howard who recorded a double-double with 11 boards and a game-high 25 points. Jessica Martin was just shy of a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Martin, the PSAC blocks leader, recorded five blocks in the game.

Mansfield (0-19, 0-9 PSAC) trailed by just one point at the half at 21-20, but was outscored 46-29 in the second half.

The Mountaineers travel to West Chester on Saturday.
