FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountaineers Fall on the Road to Bloomsburg 84-53
BLOOMSBURG – Jocelyn Ford led four Huskies in double-figure scoring with a game-high 18 points as Bloomsburg outpaced visiting Mansfield 84-53 Wednesday night at Nelson Field House.
Jena Matter scored a team-best 14 points for the Mountaineers to close within 50 points of the 1,000 point milestone. The senior would be just the 15
th player in program history to achieve that feat.
Sophomore
Katie Fitzpatrick added 10 points for Mansfield (0-18, 0-8 PSAC East). Fitzpatrick and sophomore
Bridget Carney each grabbed a game-high six rebounds.
Katie Yale connected on three field goals and three free throws to total nine points for the Mounties.
Alyssa DeRichie recorded a game-high five assists and added a pair of steals.
Ford hit six field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers, and four free throws for Bloomsburg (14-3, 5-2 PSAC East). Erica Maciejewski added 11 points with Adreana Sadowski and Brianna Dudeck each scoring 10 points.
Bloomsburg shot 45.3% (29-64) from the floor and was 42.9% (9-21) from beyond the arc. The Mountaineers connected on 38.3% (18-47) of field goals, but was held to just 11.1% (1-9) from deep.
The Mountaineers return to action on Jan. 29 when they host East Stroudsburg at Decker Gymnasium.
