FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountaineers Fall on the Road to Bloomsburg 84-53

BLOOMSBURG – Jocelyn Ford led four Huskies in double-figure scoring with a game-high 18 points as Bloomsburg outpaced visiting Mansfield 84-53 Wednesday night at Nelson Field House.

Jena Matter scored a team-best 14 points for the Mountaineers to close within 50 points of the 1,000 point milestone. The senior would be just the 15^th player in program history to achieve that feat.

Sophomore Katie Fitzpatrick added 10 points for Mansfield (0-18, 0-8 PSAC East). Fitzpatrick and sophomore Bridget Carney each grabbed a game-high six rebounds.

Katie Yale connected on three field goals and three free throws to total nine points for the Mounties.

Alyssa DeRichie recorded a game-high five assists and added a pair of steals.

Ford hit six field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers, and four free throws for Bloomsburg (14-3, 5-2 PSAC East). Erica Maciejewski added 11 points with Adreana Sadowski and Brianna Dudeck each scoring 10 points.

Bloomsburg shot 45.3% (29-64) from the floor and was 42.9% (9-21) from beyond the arc. The Mountaineers connected on 38.3% (18-47) of field goals, but was held to just 11.1% (1-9) from deep.

The Mountaineers return to action on Jan. 29 when they host East Stroudsburg at Decker Gymnasium.
