FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Ship uses Long Ball to Run Past Mounties

MANSFIELD – Shippensburg's Sarah Strybuc scored a game-high 20 points as the Lady Raiders shot a red-hot 66.7% from 3-point to run past Mansfield 107-65 Saturday afternoon in PSAC East action at First Citizens Community Bank Court at Decker Gymnasium.

Senior Jena Matter connected on seven field goals and a pair of free throws to lead Mansfield with 16 points. With her performance, Matter is just 64 points shy of becoming the 15^th player in program history to hit the 1,000 point milestone.

Alyssa DeRichie recorded 15 points and a game-high seven rebounds for the Mounties. Megan McSwain was the third Mountaineer in double-figure scoring with 13 points and had career-best four steals.

Strybuc hit three of the Raider's eight 3-pointers to lead Ship in scoring on the day. Four others hit in double-figure scoring for Shippensburg in Caitlyn Deeter (17), Stephanie Knauer (15), Logan Snyder (13), and Morgan Griffith (12).

Lauren Gold dished out a game-high nine assists for the Raiders.

Shippensburg hit four 3-pointers in each half for a season-high 66.7% from beyond the arc in the game.

Mansfield returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Bloomsburg.
