FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mounties Split a Pair with Bloom on Senior Day
MANSFIELD – Mansfield pounded out 12 hits and senior
Danny Brown won his fourth game of the season to lead the Mountaineers to a 10-6 win in the nightcap and a split with Bloomsburg in a Senior Day PSAC East doubleheader at Shaute Field Saturday.
Mansfield lost the opener 10-4 after Bloomsburg rallied from a 4-0 deficit.

Ernie Ruch,
Jon Taddeo, Connor Thompson and
Joel Worthington were all honored during pregame ceremonies.
In the nightcap, Mansfield scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning after Bloomsburg plated a run in the top half of the frame.
Anthony Renz drove in the first run with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly.
Conor Thompson later singled to drive in two more runs with
Mitchell Iseneker singling in the final run.
The Mountaineers added three more runs in the second inning off four hits and a Bloom error.
Dylan Woodworth delivered a two-run single before Andrews drove in the final run on a fielder's choice.
After Bloomsburg scored a run in the top of the third to cut the lead to 7-2, Mansfield extended its advantage with two runs in the bottom half of the inning courtesy of RBIs by
Brandon Miller and Andrews.
Bloom added two more runs in the top of the fourth to pull to 9-4 but the Mountaineers got a run in the bottom of the inning for a 10-4 lead.
Isenecker went 2-4 with a double and RBI while Miller, Fisher and Taddeo each also had two hits.
Brown went 6.1 inning to improve to 4-1 on the season with Jonathan Earnest closing out the game.
Eric Geedey (4-5) started for Bloomsburg and took the loss.
In the opener, Mansfield built a 4-0 lead after four innings, but Bloomsburg scored five runs in both the fifth and sixth inning to rally for the win.
Fisher and Taddeo each went 2-3 to lead the Mountaineer offense with Worthington starting and taking the loss on the mound.
Kyle Hunter picked up the win in relief for Bloomsburg.
Mansfield hosts Lock Haven in a single non-conference game on Tuesday at Shaute Field.
