FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Field Hockey Falls to Slippery Rock 3-1

MANSFIELD – Mansfield's Lacey Croasdale scored her third goal of the season, but it wouldn't be enough as Slippery Rock came away with the 3-1 victory in PSAC field hockey action Wednesday afternoon at Karl Van Norman Field.

Kelsey Gustafson put Slippery Rock (5-7, 1-3 PSAC) on the board first with a Kaili Simmons penalty corner pass. The goal was Gustafson's third of the season.

The Rock outshot Mansfield (3-7, 0-4 PSAC) 12-8 in the first half, but was unable to push across another goal.

Early in the second half, Croasdale's goal knotted the game at 1-1 after the junior lifted the ball into the top right corner of goal from five-yards out.

However, The Rock went on to score two unanswered goals to put the game away. Erika Rohrback scored the first in the 58^th minute before Megan McKay notched the second in the 64^th minute.

Mountie keeper Kristie Rollman recorded 13 saves in goal while Sarah Zwick and Jessi Swingle were each credited with a defensive save.

Taryn Schawillie totaled six shots with three on goal.

The Rock held a 22-13 shots advantage with penalty corners tied at 11 each.

The Mountaineers are back in action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg.
