FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Field Hockey Falls on the Road to Mercyhurst

ERIE – Blair Pembleton recorded a hat trick to lead Mercyhurst past visiting Mansfield 4-0 in PSAC field hockey action Wednesday afternoon at Tullio Field.

Five different Mountaineers recorded shots on goal, but Mansfield was unable to push a goal across. Senior Taryn Schawillie has recorded a shot on goal in 11-of 14 games this season.

Pembleton scored back-to-back goals in the 31^st and 32^nd minutes to give Mercyhurst a 2-0 lead which would stand until halftime.

Meghan Smith scored for the Lakers in the 47^th minute before Pembleton quickly answered back to record her first career hat trick.
Mercyhurst held a 22-7 advantage in shots and led penalty corners 16-3.

Mansfield goalkeeper Kristie Rollman was credited with 12 saves in the contest.

The Mountaineers return to Karl Van Norman Field to host No. 5 West Chester for senior day on Saturday at 11 a.m.
