EAST STROUDSBURG – Juniors Taryn Schawillie and Brianna Velepec each recorded goals in the second period, but it wouldn't be enough as No. 9 Mansfield fell on the road to No. 10 East Stroudsburg 5-3 Friday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

East Stroudsburg (3-2, 0-1 PSAC East) took a commanding lead in the first half after scoring three straight goals. The Warriors controlled the offensive tempo during the half, holding a 21-7 shots and 8-3 penalty corners advantage over the Mounties.

Schawillie put Mansfield (3-2, 0-1 PSAC West) on the board in the opening minutes of the second half with her fifth goal of the season. Senior Kristyn Grunza recorded her team-leading sixth assist on the play.

Velepec, the Mountaineers leading scorer, notched her seventh goal of the year on an unassisted effort in the 62^nd minute.

The Warriors added goals in the 54^th and 66^th minutes of the second half to secure their third victory of the season.
ESU held a 32-15 shot advantage and a 15-9 corner advantage for the game.

Freshman Ally Roth scored two goals and picked up an assist for the Warriors in the winning effort.

Mansfield travels to No. 8 LIU Post Saturday for the second game of their weekend trip.
