CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Mansfield University women's basketball team struggled to get anything going on the road as the Mountaineers fell with a final score of 96-49 to California University (Pa.) Tuesday night at Hamer Hall.

Freshman Katie Fitzpatrick paced the Mounties with nine points while junior Jena Matter and sophomore Alyssa DeRichie each recorded eight points. Senior Julia Stevenson had a team-high eight rebounds while adding seven points.

California's Elena Antonenko led four Vulcans in double-figure scoring with 16 points on the night. Jasmine Hill added 14 points while Ryah Gadson and Kate Seebohn each chipped in 12 points.

The Mountaineers outrebounded their opponents 36-35 in the contest while bringing down 16 offensive boards.

Mansfield struggled from the floor, shooting just 36.5%. The Mountaineers were plagued with turnovers, totaling 31 on the night.

The Mounties complete their PSAC crossover road trip tomorrow when they square off against Indiana (Pa.). Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Kovalchick Athletic Complex.
