Gannon Too Much for Mansfield, 72-46

ERIE – Julia Stevenson led the Mounties in scoring but Gannon University (11-1, 8-0 PSAC) proved to be too much for visiting Mansfield University (4-8, 1-7 PSAC) coming away with a 72-46 victory Saturday night.
 
The Knights came out hot, scoring 11 unanswered points to start the game. Gannon would lead by as much as 19 points in the first half, but the Mounties cut their deficit to just 12 points before half.
 
In the second half, Mansfield closed the gap to 11 points but couldn't overcome the Knights.
 
Stevenson connected on five-of-eight field goals while adding four free throws to lead the Mounties with 14 points. The junior collected seven rebounds on the night.

Stevenson has hit double-figures in scoring in 11 of 12 games this season.
 
Freshman Marrysa Moyer chipped-in seven points along with four rebounds, a block and a steal. Seniors Mallory Moore and Morgan Hafer each added six points a piece in the contest.

Tonight's game marks the first time Moore has been held to single-figure scoring since the final game of the 2010-11 season when she scored seven points against Cheyney University.
 
Gannon's Jennifer Papich led three Knights in double-figures with a game-high 18 points.
 
Mansfield travels to East Stroudsburg Jan. 11 to begin PSAC East play.
