Mallory Moore scores career-high 28 points but Mansfield loses at East Stroudsburg

Mallory Moore scored a career-high 28 points but Mansfield dropped a 78-63 decision at East Stroudsburg in a PSAC East contest Wednesday night in Koehler Fieldhouse.
The two teams were tied at 12-12 after the first eight minutes of play before East Stroudsburg, keyed by 3-point shooting, went on a 19-4 run to take a 31-16 lead on a 3-pointer by Barb Borst with just over six minute before the end of the first half.
Mansfield cut the lead to 38-27 at intermission and pulled to 38-33 on a jumper by freshman
Jena Matter two minutes into the second half.
East Stroudsburg responded with a 17-2 run over the next six minutes to take an insurmountable 55-35 lead.
East Stroudsburg connected on an impressive 13-of-26 3-point attempts to Mansfield's 2-of-18 while the Mountaineers hit 19-of-22 free throws to the Warriors 7-of-15.
Moore, who played every minute of the game, recorded her fifth double-double of the season pulling down 10 rebounds in addition to her game-high 28 points. Moore connected on was magnificent for the Mountaineers hitting 8-of-15 from the floor and a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line.
Moore now has 973 points in her career and needs 27 more to become the 14th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point milestone.
Freshman
Megan Touhey scored a season-high 13 points with fellow freshman
Jena Matter adding 12 points and seven boards.
The two teams split the season series after Mansfield beat East Stroudsburg 74-62 earlier this year.
Barb Borst, who hit 7-of-10 trey's, scored 23 points to lead East Stroudsburg with Andrea Veres adding 20 points and Cyara Woodridge 13 points.
Mansfield extended its losing-streak to six games in falling to 6-15 overall and 1-8 in PSAC East play.
The Mountaineers host Millersville this Saturday.
