KUTZTOWN – Sophomore Kayla Espigh scored a career-high 15 points but a cold-shooting Mansfield University women's basketball team shot a season-low 22% from the floor in a 76-44 PSAC East setback at Kutztown Thursday night.

The two teams were tied at 15-15 with eight minutes to play in the first half before Kutztown closed out the half with a 20-4 run to take what would prove an insurmountable 35-19 lead into halftime.

Mansfield shot 19% from the floor in the first half and connected on 1-of-16 3-point attempts over the first 20 minutes. The Mountaineers also committed a season-high 29 turnovers in falling to 6-13 overall and ending the first half of PSAC East play with a 1-6 conference mark.

Espigh came off the bench to hit four 3-pointers and all three free throws in scoring her 15 points. Mallory Moore scored nine points and pulled down seven rebounds while Nicole Pender had six points and six rebounds.

Ashley Wood scored a game-high 20 to lead Kutztown (11-8, 4-3 PSAC East) with Melissa McQuade added 19 points.
