BOX SCORE

Mansfield – The Mountaineer's went into halftime with a 37-25 lead over nationally ranked Millersville University, but a cold second half by Mansfield gave Millersville a 68-51 victory Saturday afternoon at Decker Gymnasium.

Mansfield's (6-16, 1-9 PSAC East) offense started off hot, jumping out to a 21-9 advantage on a Mallory Moore lay-up with 11:58 remaining in the first half. The Mounties lead never fell below seven points and would take a 37-25 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, Millersville (18-4, 8-2 PSAC East) used a 14-2 run to tie the score 43-43 at the 12:37 mark. The Marauders never looked back as they continued their second half dominance and ended the game with a final score of 68-51. Mansfield's second half total of 14 points was their lowest of the season.

Mansfield shot 52% from the field in the first half, but shot an ice cold 24% in the second half of play. Millersvile was a polar opposite shooting 29% in the first and 47% in the second.

Junior Mallory Moore led the Mounties in scoring with 16 points and recorded eight rebounds. With her 16 points, Moore needs only 11 more to become the 14th player in Mansfield women's basketball history to score 1,000 points in a career.

Nicole Pender chipped in nine points and had five steals for the Mounties. Pender has been a pesky defender all season, ranking 2nd in the PSAC in steals. Julia Stevenson added seven points and six rebounds on the afternoon.

Aurielle Mosley led all scorers with 29 points and added 15 rebounds for the Marauders.

Mansfield is back in action Wednesday, February 16th when they travel to Bloomsburg University to take on the Huskies.
