Bloomsburg Dials-Up Long Distance to Defeat Mansfield

Mansfield – The Mountaineer defense struggled to stop Bloomsburg's long distance scoring attack in a 76-52 loss at Decker Gymnasium Wednesday, January 26. The Huskies knocked down 17 three-point buckets on the night recording 51 of their 76 points from behind the arc.
Mansfield (6-11, 1-4 PSAC East) only trailed by four points in the first five minutes of the game, but an 8-0 run by the Huskies increased the deficit by 12 points with 13:09 remaining. Bloomsburg (12-5, 4-1 PSAC East) went into the locker rooms at halftime with a 17 point lead and was 11-30 from three in the first half.
The Mountaineers went on a 6-0 run in the second half to cut the lead to 11 points at the 13:56 mark, but Bloomsburg was able to pull away with a final score of 83-58.
Meredith Hafer was the only Mountaineer to score in double digits with 10 points and had a team high four field goals including one from long distance. Junior
Mallory Moore recorded eight points on the night and was a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. Freshman Megan Toughey had a three-pointer and totaled eight points for the Mounties
Bloomsburg's Kelsey Gallagher led all scorers on the night with 22 points going 6-8 from behind the arc. Dana Wieller hit five three-points and had 17 points on the night.
Mansfield is back in action Saturday, January 26 when they take on a visiting Cheney Wolves at Decker Gymnasium. Game time is set for 1:00p.m.
