BOX SCORE

Mansfield – Mansfield picked up its first PSAC East victory in a 74-62 decision at Decker Gymnasium Wednesday, January 19 when the Mounties faced-off against East Stroudsburg University. The Mountaineers were able to shake-off a seven game losing streak against a sharp-shooting East Stroudsburg (4-11, 1-2 PSAC East) who knocked down 13 three pointers on the night, a red-hot 62% from behind the arc.

Junior Mallory Moore was a dominate force for the Mountaineers picking up her third double-double of the season with 26 points and 15 rebounds. 11 of Moore's 15 rebounds came on the offensive end. Moore's 26 points was just one shy of her season high of 27 that came against Lock Haven on December 1st.

Nicole Pender continued her impressive play on the hardwood, scoring 16 points, dishing out 11 assists, and recording four steals. Pender's 11 assists is the second highest amount recorded this season in the PSAC by any player. Meredith Hafer chipped in 8 points, including two buckets from behind the arc.

Mansfield was a perfect 19 for 19 from the free-throw line (Moore 9-9, Pender 6-6, and Meredith Hafer 4-4). The Mountaineer's 74 points on the night was their fourth highest total on the season.

East Stroudsburg's Brittany McClain was the offensive spark for the Warriors, recording 25 points on the night. McClain was able to weave her way through the Mansfield defense, going 10-13 from the floor. McClain also found her outside shot, knocking down four three-pointers. Junior Jennifer Scherer went 5-5 from three point land and totaled 15 points on the night.

Mansfield is back in action Saturday, January 22 when they travel to Shippensburg for a PSAC East match-up. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
