#6 RANKED ASHLAND BEATS MOUNTIES WITH TWO RUNS IN NINTH INNING – HOSHAUER HITS SECOND HOME RUN OF SEASON

FT. MYERS, FL -- #6 ranked Ashland scored twice in the top of the ninth inning to edge Mansfield 6-4 in Ft. Myers, FL Saturday afternoon.

The Mountaineers score once in the bottom of the first, but Ashland got a solo run in the second and three more in the third to take a 4-1 lead.

D.J. Hoshauer closed the gap with a solo home run in the fifth and the Mountaineers tied the score a 4-4 on a pitch hit double by Colby Rickabaugh in the sixth.

But Ashland would keep its unbeaten record alive with two runs in the top of the ninth.

Justin Ferguson went six innings before being relived by Nate Jones who took the loss. Eric Baker went 3-5 with a double for Mansfield. Mansfield out hit Ashland 10-5, but committed four errors.

The Mountaineers are now 2-2 on the season and will play Regis University (CO) in a single game on Sunday.
