Katie Akins enters her third season on the Mansfield women's basketball coaching staff.
Akins was a member of the Mansfield women's basketball program from 2005-09. In her four seasons with the Mountaineers, she appeared in 93 games while scoring 116 points and bringing down 134 rebounds.
Akins graduated from Mansfield with a degree in Psychology in 2009 before receiving her Masters in School Psychology from Marist College in 2012
Akins also brings experience as a counselor at Mansfield basketball camps where she instructed players on ball handling, shooting drills, and offensive and defensive skills.
An Elmira native, Akins also served as an assistant coach with the Elmira Lady Express AAU basketball team.
