Jakob Woods in his third year as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with the sprint football team and his first season as assistant coach with the women's basketball team.Â
The Mountaineers have secured their largest two recruiting classes in program history in 2019 and 2020.Â
Woods was elevated to offensive coordinator following the 2019 season.

Woods was a two-sport athlete at Mansfield playing football and basketball from 2015-2017 before injury sidelined his career. He served as a student-assistant for both programs prior to his graduation from Mansfield in 2019 with a degree in accounting.

Woods made 19 appearances in three seasons at tight end, totaling 43 receptions for 465 yards and a touchdown. He also made 19 appearances on the basketball court in three seasons.
Woods was named CSFL Honorable Mention Tight End following the 2016 season.Â
