WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers softball team fell in both games to the West Chester Golden Rams on the road, on Friday, April 17.
Mounties fell by scores of 8-0 and 19-2.
GAME ONE: West Chester 8 – Mansfield 0
Emma Maurer pitched 3.2 innings and had five strikeouts on the day. Maurer,
Aubrey Reinert, and
Sarah Shupp had hits in the game.
Both teams had three scoreless innings before the Golden Rams broke it open in the bottom of the fourth with eight runs. Â Mansfield was unable to score in the top of the fifth to close the game 8-0.
GAME TWO: West Chester 19 – Mansfield 2
Shannon Perlungher hit her second homerun of the season and
Paige Reichard went 1-3 with an RBI in the game.
The Mounties had the even innings escape them allowing eight and nine runs in the inning.
