Mansfield Drops Doubleheader to Kutztown

MANSFIELD, Pa. — Mansfield dropped both ends of a PSAC East doubleheader to Kutztown on Friday, April 10, at Helen Lutes Field, falling 11-0 in each game.

Game 1: Kutztown 11, Mansfield 0


Mansfield was limited to two hits in the opener, with Aubrey Reinert and Emma Wonsick accounting for the Mountaineers' only offense.

Wonsick recorded a single in the third inning and advanced into scoring position, while Reinert added a base hit in the sixth, but Mansfield was unable to capitalize in either opportunity.

In the circle, Emma Maurer took the loss, working 4.2 innings, while Britni Motter and Bailey Livermore also saw action in relief. The trio accounted for six strikeouts

Game 2: Kutztown 11, Mansfield 0 (5 innings)


Mansfield tallied four hits in game two, getting singles from Rachel Sherman, Shannon Perlungher and Makenzi Reinard, along with a double from Sarah Shupp.

The Mountaineers threatened in the first inning with two hits but stranded three runners, and later put a runner on in the fourth, but could not break through offensively.

Reilly Storer made the start in the circle and took the loss, while Bri Lock pitched in relief.
