MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineers Softball team, led by pitchers
Emma Maurer and
Reilly Storer, took two games from Millersville, 2-1 and 8-4, on Saturday, April. 11.
Maurer threw 12 strikeouts in a complete game victory of game one. Storer struck out seven batters in game two leading to the win. Â
Sarah Shupp had a homerun in both games. For her second and third long bomb of the year.

GAME ONE: Mansfield 2 – Millersville 1
Maurer opened the game striking out seven of the first ten batters in the game. She only allowed four hits. It's her second complete game of the season. Â
Mansfield would score first in the third inning on a solo homerun from Shupp. They added another run the following inning as
Kyla Stevenson would single in Maurer. Mansfield led 2-0 heading into the final inning.
Millersville would cut the lead on a solo homerun, but Maurer shut the door striking out the final two batters to win 2-1.

GAME TWO: Mansfield 8 – Millersville 4
Storer earned her first win on the year and first complete game.
Aubrey Reinert was the top Mountie bat going 3-3 with three RBIs and drew a walk.
Mansfield again would strike first in the second inning as
Makenzi Reinhard hit an RBI double to right center. Reinhard would score a batter later a Reinert single to center field. Mansfield led 2-0.
Millersville would cut the lead the following inning on a solo homerun but Mansfield led 2-1.
In the fourth inning, Reinert and
Paige Reichard brought in runs each going up 4-1. Shupp would put an exclamation point the next batter going yard to center field. Mansfield led 7-1 after the fourth.
Reinert had her third RBI the following inning doubling in a run. Mansfield led 8-1.
A Millersville comeback was stifled after three runs in the final inning as Storer struck out the final batter. Mansfield took the win 8-4.
