SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Mansfield University track and field team competed on April 9th and 10th, at the SU Multi hosted by Susquehanna University, in Selinsgrove, Pa.
Marcus Quaker once again showed out with a record breaking score of 6,479 points in the decathlon.Â
Alyssa Parks finished second overall and now has the second best heptathlon record with a total of 3,808 points, in her first ever attempt.
Quaker had tremendous growth since last years decathlon performance at the PSAC Outdoor Championship, finishing seventh overall.
Parks had a first place finish in the 200 meter (27.27) and the 800 meter (2:31.42).Â
Quaker had a first place finish in javelin with a distance of 54.30 meters and discus with 40.39 meters.
Parks picked up a second place performance in the 100 meter hurdles with 16.76, a third place in javelin (25.80 meters) and two fourth places shot put (9.04 meters) and high jump (1.42 meters).
Quaker had two fifth place finishes once in high jump (1.86 meters) and the 1500 meter at 4:58.94, and two seventh place performances in the 100 meter (11.19) and long jump (6.62 meters)
Parks rounded out her total points in long jump with an eighth place finish at 4.47 meters.
Quaker finished his day in the 400 meter (8th - 51.32), 110 meter hurdles (9th - 16.08) pole vault (12th - 3.00 meters) and shot put (13th - 10.74 meters.)
