LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Mountaineer baseball team (11-17, 2-6 PSAC East) traveled to Lock Haven to compete against the Bald Eagles (5-19) on Tuesday (Mar. 31) afternoon, where the Mounties were edged out of the nine inning match up.
Game: Lock Haven 6, Mansfield 4
Starting pitcher for the game was Austin Beauchamp, he threw 2.1 innings, allowing just three hits and three strikeouts.
Lock Haven opened scoring early in the first inning by with an RBI single.
A sacrificial fly ball to center, have Billy Riggs the opportunity to be the first Mountie home.
Two more runs were added by the Bald Eagle offense in the second, 3-1.
Ryan Sekulski sat in the box during the fourth, when a wild pitch occurred giving Nick Ledger to sneak on home.
In the fourth, Lock Haven fought back taking in another two runs, stretching their lead 6-2.
The Mountaineers held them off in the sixth adding a run of their own from Sekulski.
Slade McTigue ended the scoring sequence for Mansfield on a wild pitch.
