Reinert Homers as Mansfield Opens PSAC Play

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineers softball team opened PSAC conference play as they traveled to Kutztown on Friday March 20. Mansfield fell in both games by a score or 3-1 and 7-0.
 
GAME ONE: Kutztown 3 – Mansfield 1
 
In the first game, both pitchers threw complete games. Britni Motter went six innings and tossed three strike outs for the Mounties (3-7, 0-2 PSAC East). 
 
Kutztown (11-9, 2-0 PSAC East) would score first on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Mansfield would tie the game up in the fourth inning on an Aubrey Reinert home run. It was the first homerun of her Mansfield career. The score was 1-1 after the fourth.
 
The Golden Bears would steal the contest away using back-to-back homeruns in the sixth inning to pull away by a score of 2-1. 
 
GAME TWO: Kutztown 7- Mansfield 0
 
Sarah Shupp went 1-2 with a walk in the game. Reilly Storer pitched three innings for the Mounties. Mansfield got off to a slow start in the second game surrendering a run in the first inning. 
 
The Golden Bears would put one run per inning in the third and fourth inning and then doubling up in the fifth and sixth to take the game 7-0.
