Mountaineers Drop Contest to Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineers men's basketball team dropped a PSAC road contest to Millersville by a score of 80-64, on Saturday, Feb.7.

JuJu Pagan led Mansfield with 21 points. Sterling Scott collected another double-double on the season with 14 points and a team high 11 rebounds. Defensively Julian Wilson had a career high five blocks.

Mansfield (2-20, 1-15 PSAC) kept the game close early evenly distributing the scoring and holding their own defensively. They were tied 12-12 about halfway through the first half. The Marauders (16-7, 11-5 PSAC) would find an offensive stride at that point outscoring Mansfield 28-15 the rest of the way. Pagan, Scott and Wilson all had six points at the half, Mansfield trailed 40-27.

Mansfield jumped early scoring eight of the 10 first points of the second half, with three point shots from Darrien Berrios Rivera and Pagan sparking Mansfield. A Marauder 8-0 run stopped the early momentum.

Mansfield would notably go on a ten-point run midway through the second half using a flagrant foul on Millersville to put it in motion. Mansfield was only able to make it as close as seven points in that stretch and would eventually fall 80-64
