SHEPHERDTOWN, W. Va.- The Mansfield Mountaineers men's basketball team traveled to PSAC foe Shepherd and fell by a score of 95-67 on Saturday Jan. 17.
Darrien Berrios Rivera had a Mountie career best 21 points and was 5-6 from three point range for Mansfield. Juju Pagan was the only other Mountaineer in double figures with 11 point.
Sterling Scott led the team in rebounds with five.
Mansfield (1-15, 0-10 PSAC) struggled to find their shot early in the contest, shooting 30% from the floor. The did find success in three-point range shooting 5-9. The Rams (9-7, 0-0 PSAC) out rebounded Mansfield 24-9, which included six offensive rebounds)
Julian Wilson has seven points in the half in limited minutes. Mounties trailed
50-26 at the half.
Mansfield kept pace with the Rams in the second half. Berrios Rivera accounted for 15 of his 21 points in the half. Mansfield put on a 19-7 run through the middle of the half. That was as close as they came to catching Shepherd, who took the 95-67 victory.
