MANSFIELD, Pa. – Four goal scorers came through as the No. 9 Mansfield Mountaineers field hockey team (3-1) continued their home stint to begin the season against Frostsburg State (0-3) with the Mounties pulling away the 4-0 victory on Saturday (Sept. 13) afternoon.
Ella du Plessis and Jenna Duke posted the first three shots before Katie Thomas gave the first goal for the red and black to hold the 1-0 advantage after the opening quarter and into the half.
J. Duke delivered a slapper from 15 yards away to grab the 2-0 edge through the third quarter.
Kiley Stoltzfus and Amanda Duke posted their first goals of the season in the final quarter, as Mansfield stormed to the 4-0 victory.
The red and black rounded out the afternoon with 27 shots and 18 on goal, with nine players registering shots on the day.
