The Mansfield softball team finished out their road portion of their schedule on Tuesday afternoon.

MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers softball team finished off their road Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) schedule for the season at Shippensburg (26-17, 15-12 PSAC East) on Tuesday (Apr. 22) afternoon, ending in a sweep for the Raiders in a 6-2 game one victory and a 7-1 game two win.

GAME 1: Shippensburg 6 - Mansfield 2

Shippensburg started things off with a quick two-run start in the bottom of the first inning.

Mansfield (8-30, 6-24 PSAC East) cut the lead in half in the top of the fourth from an RBI single from Alex Reisinger, driving in Natalie Blackstone.

The Raiders responded off errors that gave them another two-run stamp to push out to a 4-1 edge after the fourth inning, with two more runs in the next two innings to hold the 6-1 lead.

Melissa Demo's at-bat counted for the final run, with Liliana Moyer scoring the second run for the Mounties, but Shippensburg remained in control for the 6-2 victory.

GAME 2: Shippensburg 7 - Mansfield 1

To end the second, the Raiders picked up the first run with an RBI double for the 1-0 start.

Reisinger's sacrifice fly earned Mansfield the 1-1 tie after the top of the third, with Sarah Shupp scoring on the play.

A wild pitch gave Shippensburg the lead again with the one-run lead to end the third inning.

Three runs crossed home plate in the fourth for the Raiders to build a 5-1 cushion and two runs in the sixth to give Shippensburg the home sweep with a 7-1 win.
