MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers softball team closed out their 2025 season with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent No. 12 East Stroudsburg (42-9-1, 25-5-1 PSAC East) on Sunday (Apr. 27) afternoon, ending in a sweep for the Warriors in a 11-1 game one victory and a 8-2 game two win.
GAME 1: East Stroudsburg 11 - Mansfield 1
Mansfield (8-32, 6-26 PSAC East) started off with the 1-0 lead from a passed ball, scoring Melissa Demo.
Over the next two innings, ESU responded with six unanswered runs to post the 6-1 advantage.Â
Finishing off game one with the 11-1 victory, the Warriors found five runs in the final two innings.Â
GAME 2: East Stroudsburg 8 - Mansfield 2
The Warriors started the scoring with three runs to hold the 3-0 edge after the top of the second.Â
Paige Reichard picked up an RBI, scoring Reinert for the first Mountaineer run to end the second inning.Â
ESU built the six-run lead with the 7-1 edge with two runs in the third and fifth inning.Â
Emma Maurer added the second run for the Mounties with an RBI single to score Natalie Blackstone, but East Stroudsburg added the final for the season finale sweep, 8-2.Â
This concludes the 2025 Mountaineer season.
