MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers softball team hosted their third straight home Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) clash with Bloomsburg (23-13, 13-9 PSAC East) on Thursday (Apr. 17) afternoon, ending in a sweep for the Huskies in an 8-1 game one victory and a 9-0 game two win.
GAME 1: Bloomsburg 8 - Mansfield 1
Bloomsburg picked up the first run through a passed ball to begin the contest.
Through the third and fourth inning, the Huskies added two more in each inning to burst out to a 5-0 advantage, followed by a three-run shot to cement an 8-0 edge.Â
Saving Mansfield (8-24, 6-18 PSAC East) from an early ended game, Sarah Shupp sent a solo home run into the batting cages to give the Mounties their first run to end the sixth inning, but Bloomsburg finished the scoring with the 8-1 victory.Â
GAME 2: Bloomsburg 9 - Mansfield 0 (5 innings)
A two-run shot started out Bloomsburg's lead after the top of the third.
After another run in the fourth inning, the Huskies ran away in the fifth inning with six more runs, including a three-run blast to pick up the early game win and the afternoon sweep, 9-0.
Natalie Blackstone registered the solo hit for the Mounties.

Mansfield will host West Chester tomorrow, Friday (Apr. 14), for their fourth of five consecutive doubleheaders. First pitch against the Golden Rams is scheduled for 1 p.m., followed by game two with the Eastern Division foe expected to start at 3 p.m.
