WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers Women's track and field team newcomer
Minyhah Easterling makes impact at the Purple and Gold Invite, hosted by West Chester University on Saturday (Mar. 22).
Easterling joined the team in her first meet with a shot put mark of 8
th finishing 11.28 meters. The newcomer made a great first impression by now holding the fifth furthest distance in program history in the shot put.
Blaze Wood competed in discus at the beginning of the day with a mark of 20.76 meters taking 29
th place.
Following up on the field with Wood, were
Marissa Allen and
Alexis McNitt debuting in javelin for the first time in their collegiate careers. Wood placed 9
th with 26.25 meters, McNitt 14
th with 24.96 meters and Allen 20
thwith 15.14 meters.
Lastly in the field events was Allen in high jump with a closing height of 1.32 meters in 9th place.
On the track side, the 100-meter race started the day with
Makayla Robicheaux,
Sandra Lemus and McNitt.
Robicheaux finished in 9th with a time of 13.87, Lemus 13
th with 14.02 and McNitt 18
th with 14.38.
Allen lead the 1500 meter race for Mansfield with 5:20.40 in 13
th place.
Libby Moore accompanied Allen finishing at 31
st with 6:41.42.
Robicheaux and Lemus competed against one another in the 200-meter placing 27
th with 28.80 and 35
th with 29.74 respectively.
Moore also raced in the 800 meter where she finished 3:12 in 21
st place.

The Mountaineers are back in action on Saturday (Mar. 29) as the team travels to compete in the Leopard Invite, hosted by Lafayette College.
