SELENSGROVE, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers Men's track and field team add three top ten program records at the Susquehanna Invitational, hosted by Susquehanna University on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Jon McDannell opened the meet for the Mounties with a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 8.80.
Pius Adomako competed in the 60-meter dash placing 30
th with a time of 7.51. Jerry Holmes Jr (46
th – 7.70) and
Michael Beals (60
th – 8.81) joined him in the race.
Nathaniel Welch,
Marcus Quaker,
Seth Neal and
Noah Shedden grabbed a second-place finish in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:01.53.
Shedden and Welch also ran the mile taking 21
st with a time of 4:49.36 and 24
th 4:53.20.
Neal ran his first 800-meter of the season finishing 14
th with 2:06.04 and
Greysen Kupsky with 2:22.70 for 51
st.
Adomako finished top for Mansfield in the 200-meter with a time of 24.31 taking 26
th,
Ibrahim Sheriff and
Ajani Gibson also raced taking 33
rd with 24.51 and 57
th with 25.72.
Holmes and Adomako went head-to-head in high jump both gaining a new personal record of 1.84 for third and 1.74 meters for eighth. With those marks, the two moved spots in the top ten marks in program history with Holmes tied for fifth and Adomako taking seventh.
Quaker took 24
th in shot put with a new best of 11.17 meters.
Gibson debuted in triple jump placing 16
th with a mark of 11.12 meters and a new spot in the books with the sixth farthest mark in program records.
Two different 4 x 400-meter relay teams rounded out the meet for the Mounties. The team of Sheriff, Neal, McDannell and Quaker finished 9
th with a time of 3:36.67, while the team of Gibson, Welch, Shedden and Adomako took 13
th with 3:48.06.
