FROSTBURG, MD. –
Katie Sheeler scored 27 points but the Mansfield Mountaineers' women's basketball team fell on the road to Frostburg State 97-75, on Monday, Dec. 1.

Sheeler also tied for the team lead in rebounds (6) and led in steals (4).
KJ Gordon also had six rebounds and was the other Mountie in double figures with 11 points. Mansfield as a team was stellar at the line going 16-20.Â

The Mounties (1-4) took the lead early with buckets from
Delilah Nazih, Gordon and
Paley Adams to start the game up 6-5 four minutes in. The Bobcats (2-3) finished the first quarter strong going on a 23-12 run the rest of the way. Mansfield trailed 28-18.

The Mountaineers started the second quarter strong on a 15-11 run through the first seven minutes of the quarter highlighted by three point baskets by Sheeler and
Alyssa Parks. The Bobcats responded with an 11-3 run to end the half up 50-36.

Frostburg extended the lead in the third quarter scoring the first 13 points of the quarter, and scoring 32 points overall. Sheeler accounted for 11 of the 18 Mansfield points in the quarter. The Mounties trailed 82-54.

Mansfield would outscore Frostburg State 21-15 in the final frame but the Mountaineers would suffer the loss by a score of 97-75.
