MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineer women's basketball team (1-3) faced off in non-conference action against Bowie State (2-1). The Mounties fell by a score of 73-36, on Saturday, Nov. 22nd.
Katie Sheeler led the red and black with seven points and had five rebounds on the day.
KJ Gordon tied the lead in points with seven.
The Lady Bulldogs opened the first few minutes of play for an 11-6 stretch.
The first quarter ended strong with a driving layup from Tyarah Woody to cut the deficit to 18-9.
Bowie State rallied for another run to start the second quarter to increase their lead 24-14 at the five minute mark.
The Mounties add four points with two free throws and a layup for a score of 32-18 in favor of the Bulldogs going into the second half.
Bowie State continued their offensive push for final two quarters, which allowed them to pull away with the 73-36 victory.

Mountaineers are set to compete on Tuesday, Nov. 25th, against D'Youville University, with tip-off scheduled for 5 p.m. In spirit of the upcoming holiday, the game will serve as the Mountie Turkey Tumble contest.
