MANSFIELD, Pa. – Four different Mountaineers found the back of the cage as the Mansfield field hockey team (5-6) wrapped up another strong home showing on Wednesday (Oct. 8) with a 4-0 victory over D'Youville University (0-11).
Leah Toskey got the scoring started in the opening quarter with a pass from Jenna Duke, giving the red and black a 1-0 lead.
Kaylie Ranere extended the advantage midway through the second quarter with a redirect from Melanie Esh to make it 2-0.
Amanda Duke added to the lead early in the third quarter, notching her third goal of the season to push the Mounties ahead 3-0.
Jenna Duke, assisted by Ella du Plessis, capped off the scoring late in the third quarter, sealing the 4-0 shutout victory for Mansfield.
The Mounties dominated offensively, posting 34 total shots and 17 on goal, with nine different players registering attempts.
