MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountianeers men's basketball team (5-8, 2-5 PSAC East) fell by a final score of 94-57 to the Shepherd Rams (9-6, 5-3 PSAC East) in a Pennsylvania State Atheltic Conference Eastern Division match up on Wednesday (Jan. 8) night.
Sterling Scott led the Mountaineers with x points and x rebounds.
Owen Chambers added nine points, going 3-5 from behind the arc.
Shepherd jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead and extended their run to 11-2 before the first media timeout.
The Rams continued their run, forcing a Mansfield timeout with 12:32 left in the first half as the Mountaineers trailed 21-4.
Over the next four minutes, the Mounties responded with a 12-4 run of their own to get back to within nine (25-16) at the under-eight media timeout.
Coming out of the break, Shepherd answered the Mountaineer run with a 10-2 run of their own to take a 17-point lead.
At the half, Mansfield trailed 38-26. Scott led the Mounties at halftime with seven points, three rebounds, and one assist.
The Rams opened the second half on a 22-12 run to extend their lead to 22.
Shepherd never looked back, utilizing their hot shooting in the second half to secure a 94-57 win on the road.
