ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Mansfield Mountaineers women's track and field team finished with 12 top ten places at the RIT January Thursday Meet, hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology on Thursday, Jan. 30.
Zalayna Brown opened the meet with a ninth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.55 and
Alexa Miller in 19
th (13.11).
Brown and
Marissa Allen took chances at high jump for the first time in their collegiate careers, with marks of (8
th – 1.37 meters) and (6
th – 1.42 meters).
Allen raced the 800-meter collecting a personal best of 2:33.13 for eighth, followed by a best from
Libby Moore of 3:07.29 for 22
nd.
Moore also competed in the mile taking sixth in the event with another personal time of 6:56.93.
Madison Ziska lead the team in long jump with a mark of 5.11 meters taking fourth place, while
Alexis McNitt made her debut with 3.83 in 24
th place.
Ziska (5
th – 8.28) and McNitt (19
th – 9.01) were joined in the 60-meter dash by fellow sprinters
Makayla Robicheaux,
Sandra Lemus and
Alexa Miller. Personal bests were collected by Robicheaux (10
th – 8.57), Lemus (15
th – 8.76) and Miller (25 – 10.08).
Lemus ran solo in the 200-meter collecting another personal record in 20
th place with a time of 30.35.
Carrie Claypool took first place in the 3k at a pace of 11:15.25 and
Anissa Lytle finished sixth with 14:29.97.
The 4 x 400-meter relay team of McNitt, Lemus, Miller and Claypool took first with a time of 5:16.85.
Ending the meet in the 4 x 200-meter relay was Robicheaux, Brown, Ziska and Allen taking third with a time of 1:55.08.
