EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers men's basketball team (6-13, 3-10 PSAC East) traveled to East Stroudsburg to take on the Warriors (14-5, 8-4 PSAC East) on Saturday (Jan. 25) afternoon.
ESU started the game on a fast 6-0 run before Scott Woodring got the Mounties on the board with a mid-range jumper.
The Warriors continued their quick pace, extending their lead to 15 by the first media timeout.
By the under-12 media timeout of the first half, East Stroudsburg had built a 23-point lead over the Mountaineers (29-6).
With 3:49 to go in the first, the Warriors led 47-16 as Mansfield was shooting 7-25 (28%) from the floor and 1-8 (12.5%) from three.
At the break, Mansfield trailed 66-20 as ESU shot 46% from the floor and knocked down 13 threes in the first half.
East Stroudsburg led 86-30 halfway through the second half, as they were closing in on their eighth Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference win.
Mansfield couldn't find a run in the second half as they shot 31% from the field in the game and fell by a final score of 118-46.
Nasir Brown led the Mountaineers with 10 points and two steals.
