ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Mansfield Mountaineers women's track and field team earned three top two finishes and a plethora of personal bests at the RIT January Friday Meet, hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday (Jan. 24).
Carrie Claypool started the day for the Mounties with a second-place finish in the 5k with a time of 19:56.70.
Madison Ziska was also a second-place finisher in the 400 meters with 1:02.20 respectively.
Joining Ziska, ending in another second-place finish, in the 4x400-meter relay were teammates
Zalayna Brown,
Makayla Robicheaux and
Marissa Allen with a time of 4:27.97.
Brown competed in long jump (4.77m – 7
th), shot put (9.26m – 18
th) and the 60-meter hurdles (10.38 – 6
th) with personal bests in the shot put and hurdles.Â
Allen finished ninth in the mile with a time of 5:41.84 and
Libby Moore placed 9
th (14:21.55) in the 3k.Â
Robicheaux went to finals for the 60-meter dash and took 5
th with a time of 8.64.
Sandra Lemus (8.83 – 12
th),
Alexis McNitt (9.01 – 15
th) and
Alexa Miller (10.09 – 19
th) all collected personal bests in the event as well.Â
Miller competed alongside Brown in the 60-meter hurdles finishing 14
th earning a personal best of 12.31.
Lemus finished 24
th a new personal best of 30.52 and McNitt at 26
th with a time of 30.72 in the 200-meter.
Blaze Wood hit a mark of 7.45 meters in weight throw and 6.07 meters in the shot put.
