Mounties Drop PSAC Contest at No. 25 Shepherd

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Mountaineers (0-3-3, 0-3-1 PSAC East) traveled to West Virginia on Wednesday (Sept. 25) afternoon to face off with the No. 25 nationally ranked Shepherd Rams (4-0-2, 4-0-0 PSAC East).

Shepherd got the game's opening goal in the ninth minute after the Rams forward hit a low-driven shot to the right edge of the net.

On the brink of halftime, SU buried a second to double their lead.

The Rams controlled all of the first half, holding the Mountaineers to no shots while forcing Mansfield's Goalkeeper Alyssa Shuman to make three saves.

Shepherd added three late goals in the 85th, 88th, and 89th minutes, all three scored by the Rams forward Lydia Gable taking her up to four on the day.

Kerrah Clymer and Taylar Luckenbill recorded the only two shots for the Mounties with Luckenbill's being the only on goal.

Shuman finished with 11 saves, tying her career high.

UP NEXT: The Mountaineers return home on Saturday (Sept. 28) to welcome in the Shippensburg University Raiders. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
